5 Holiday Events in Omaha

1. See Holiday Lights

There’s something magical about piling into the car and driving through holiday lights. And there are so many amazing displays around Omaha it’s hard to choose! Some of our favorites are Lights of Aksarben, Holiday Lights Festival, Santa’s Rock n Lights Drive-Through Light Show, and Midtown Crossing Season of Lights. If this isn’t one of your family’s holiday traditions, it’s worth adding to the list! Check out our guide to the best holiday lights in and around Omaha for more.

2. Go to Lauritzen Gardens

Don’t want to miss Bright Nights, the spectacular light show at Lauritzen Gardens, you won’t be disappointed. And you will definitely want to take a photo of the 20-foot poinsettia tree! Timed tickets are suggested during the day and required during the evening.

3. Visit Santa

There are plenty of opportunities to see Santa around Omaha if your kids have made their Christmas list and are ready to talk to the big guy himself. Don’t forget, you can mail him a letter, too!

4. Get tickets to see the Nutcracker

If you’ve never been to the ballet, this is the show to see. The charming Christmas story comes to life on stage with brilliant classical dancing. The American Midwest Ballet is performing the Nutcracker at Omaha’s Orpheum Theater, on December 9 and 10.
