Fall crafts, live theater, holiday lights, and so much more usher in the holidays in Omaha. Add some of these family friendly events to your calendar and kick off the holiday season with fun for the whole family.

November 1 – 13 | Ode to Toy Rose Theater
This interactive show reveals what happens when a new toy joins the toy box. Bella the Ballerina and Teddy the Teddy Bear welcome Milo, a new Wooden Duck and find creative ways to play together. This show is geared for kids ages 1 and up. 

November 8 – 13 | Annie, Orpheum Theater 

November 11 – 13 | May the Force Be With You, Omaha Children’s Museum
Wear your Star Wars costume and participate in fun themed activities for the whole family. 

November 12 | Family Workshop Fall-Inspired, Lauritzen Gardens, Omaha
10 a.m.
Celebrate fall with a fun family craft! Create a turkey or pumpkin using fall leaves, dried grasses, various seeds, bark, etc. Participants receive all of the materials to complete this craft. Pre-registration required. 

November 17 | Nature Inspired Centerpieces, Fontenelle Forest, Bellevue
6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Turn natural items like acorns and pinecones into a rustic centerpiece. 

November 18 | Winterfest, Bayliss Park, Council Bluffs
6 p.m.
Jump start the holiday season with this family-friendly event. Browse local vendors in Maker’s Village, check out the holiday lighting ceremony, Santa’s workshop, food trucks, outdoor holiday movie, live reindeer, face painting, balloon art, crafts, carolers, cocoa, and more. 

November 19 – 20 | The Nutcracker, American Midwest Ballet, Hoff Family Arts & Culture Center, Council Bluffs

November 23 | Holiday Parade Shady Lake Town Center, Papillion
6 p.m.
Kick off the holiday season in the center of the mall with the lighting of our NEW 35 foot LED lit tree with over 30,000 lights – the biggest and best tree in all of Nebraska! Santa and his friends will be here.

November 24 | Omaha Turkey Trot, 1200 Mike Fahey St, Omaha
9 a.m.
Head to Charles Schwab Field to do a 5K run Thanksgiving morning before enjoying a turkey dinner. 

November 24 | Thanksgiving Lighting Ceremony, Gene Leahy Mall
6 p.m.
The Holiday Lights Festival returns to Gene Leahy Mall this year. Stay for a free Making Spirits Bright concert at the Holland Center after the lighting ceremony.

November 25 – December 18 | Cinderella, Rose Theater

November 26 – 27 | Monster Jam, CHI Health Center Omaha
This is the ultimate mix of high-flying stunts and four-wheel excitement. With unbelievable action to unexpected thrills, it promises full throttle family fun!
