Explore Platte River State Park with Kids
This is a nearby retreat for Omaha families with plenty to do for all ages. Explore:
- Explore and splash around in the beautiful Stone Creek Waterfall (one of Nebraska’s picturesque waterfalls)
- The Spray Park with several water features, 3 water slides, a waterfall, dump buckets and a fountain! We love that this spray park has two levels – the upper level is more for younger kiddos ages 5 and under and the upper level is for older kiddos. And there is plenty of shade for parents!
- Crawdad Creek – what more can kids ask for than exploring in the mud! This creek has all kinds of creatures from insects, reptiles, fish – and kids are allowed to catch the minnows, tadpoles, crawdads, and frogs!
- Hiking and Biking Trails – explore miles of these beautiful wooded trails. You can download the hiking trail path map here.
- Guided Horseback Riding – $25 per person
- Archery and Shooting Range at the Roger G. Sykes Outdoor Heritage Education Complex – This center features an archery range with a shooting tower.
